Rongai Route

Rongai route is located in the Northeast of Kilimanjaro Mountain in the border of Tanzania and Kenya, 73 kilometers from the entrance gate up to Uhuru Peak. It starts from the remote village of Nale Muru found in the lower farming slopes of the Mountain before the vegetation cover zoning changes into the pine forest. In addition, it is unique for it approaches the peak to the North. Therefore, it gives the climbers a memorable experience due to the availability of some wildlife such as Black and White colobus monkeys and elephants along the way. Moreover, this route can be accessed throughout the year without much trouble. On top of that this route is less crowded so comfortable for the hikers who prefer a quiet environment. Basically this trail is easy to climb because it passes through gentle slopes up to the top just like the Marangu route and it is the best for less experienced hikers as well as those climbers who do not like much challenge during hiking. However, this route does not have permanent huts instead it has Camp sites. This package is designed for 7 days hiking in order to provide a great opportunity of reaching at Uhuru peak.
