6 Days Wildebeest Migration Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater

This trip will give you a chance to experience the wonderful creation and the beauty of Tanzania by viewing the wildebeest migration in Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, the place where the black rhino lives and observing other stunning areas while cruising . In fact, there are many things to look at, words do not do justification. You will also have an opportunity to visit maasai bomas and learn their culture by paying a very small entrance fee. Wildebeest crossing the Mara River is a phenomenon and something that you will never forget in your entire life.

Itinerary (6 days)

Day 1: Arrival at the airport

Our professional staff will pick you up from Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport and take you to your accommodation in Arusha city overnight.

 

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire

Our professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8.00m and then drive 3 hours to Tarangire national park for a full day game drive inside Tarangire national park later on you will be driven to Jambo, twiga or fanaka lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tarangire national park is located 115km from Arusha and covers an area of about 2800 km2. The park is famous for having large groups of elephants and baobab trees. Furthermore, big cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs are also found in this park. In fact there are varieties of wildlife such as wildebeest, zebras, worth hog (pumba), water buffalos and many others just to mention a few.  

 

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti

Wake up in the morning for breakfast, pack your luggage in the safari jeep, then you will start to do an en-route game drive to Serengeti national park with your lunch inside the jeep.

On the way you will be able to view the beautiful views of the Rift valley as well as the view of Ngorongoro crater. On the way to the camp or lodge you will have an evening game drive in central Serengeti where you will be able to see the sunset, and afterwards you will have dinner and overnight in the Seronera campsite inside Serengeti. The following day you will have an opportunity to drive to the Mara River to witness the wildebeest crossing, also on the way there is the possibility of seeing other animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes and many others.

 

Day 4: Serengeti full day

On this day you will wake up early in the morning and have your full breakfast, then you will be driven to the Mara River for the crossing. The main activity on this day is experiencing the crossing unless you decide otherwise.

The Great migration varies every year the best chance of seeing it is during June up to September while the wildebeest calving is from January to March.

A million and a half of these majestic animals’ migrate throughout the year as they look for fresh grazing pasture and follow the rainfall for better water sources 

In the evening when the game drive time is over you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and go to sleep.

 

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater

Wake up early in the morning for an early breakfast and see the Sun rise inside Serengeti, after breakfast you will do early morning game drive up to 11.30am then you will go back to the campsite for the hot lunch and pack your stuff in the jeep ready to start another adventure to Ngorongoro crater.

On the way to Ngorongoro, there will be a chance to do a game drive on route until you arrive at Simba A campsite for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6: Ngorongoro crater tour to Arusha

Wake up early in the morning at around 5.30 am for your breakfast, after breakfast you will descend to the Ngorongoro crater floor to search for animals including the big five, also there is a chance of spotting varieties of birds such as flamingos and the black rhino. After the game drive you will go back to the campsite for lunch, pack your backpacks and drive to Arusha for overnight or to the airport ready to fly back home.
